Larry Long Martin, Georgia


Mr. Larry Mason Long, age 60 of 50 Poplar Lane, Martin, Georgia passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

A son of the late Carl Mason Long and Mary Virginia Yearwood Long, he was born May 7, 1957 in Gwinnett County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens and Franklin County. He was employed with Toccoa Service Gas and later with Carolina By-Products as a truck driver. He had a great sense of humor, loved cookouts and enjoying life. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Diane Goodwin Long; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Chris Carter of Carnesville; son, Travis Long and April Griffin of Carnesville; six grandchildren, Shane Carter, Stormy Carter, Emily Long, Abigail Long, Zachary Shelton and Kallee Shelton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernie and Janet Long of Carnesville and Kenny and Nini Long of Toccoa; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Tom Jarrett of Toccoa, Gail and Jimmy Forrester of Carnesville and Shelby Hayes of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017, 11 O’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Joey Stewart officiating. The family will be at the home on Poplar Lane.

Acree-Davis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Larry Mason Long.
